An Invitation for Bible Sundays
Maryland Bible Society exists in part to demonstrate the Bible’s relevance through training, teaching and exposition raising the awareness of as many people as possible in hopes of “igniting a fresh passion for God’s Word”. From the early 1800s through the present, Bible societies ‘have carried the Flag’ always out front reminding us of its impact on our lives, culture, governance and world view.
Today is not different than any other time. The Bible Society brings a reminder of the preeminence of God’s Word and what it means to each of us. Churches certainly do this and the Society acts as a key partner. Our commission is to be there 24/7 distributing God’s Word strategically.
The Society is also different on another level. As part of our mission – focus on Scripture – we are working across denominational lines. Maryland Bible Society cherishes the uniqueness of neutrality as a vital part of our mission.
In this spirit the Bible Society provides Bible Sundays to churches. We have set aside a Sunday each month for our Executive Director, David Moyer, to speak and bring the message of God’s preeminence that sits above all differences. Dave shares a special message from God’s Word, “Ps 119: The Word on the Word, a Biblical perspective”. It is a majestic view.
David has a deep love and respect for God’ Word and will come to bring refreshment through a reminder of God’s plan to glorify Himself through his Word.
The MBS has a Historic Bible Collection housed at Stevenson University. While it is always optional, we would love to bring some items with us for your viewing on Bible Sunday. We have an original 1611 King James Bible along with many other interesting Bibles, books and records.
